New for the 2012 running of the Griffin King of the Hammers is a 3 mile race to determine the starting order. Not only will 50 plus racers be competing for the 20 available Last Chance Qualifier spots this year, the whole field will be running the same course to determine where they will line up on Race Day! In years past the starting order of the Griffin King of the Hammers has been left up to chance and names have been drawn from a hat. The new concept of racing for starting positions will provide more action for spectators and allow the drivers to compete for the coveted pole position.
Last year's Griffin King of the Hammers was not only the hardest, most extreme race that you have ever watched, but also the most fun you could have in one
place for a whole week in the desert. "We want this to be an all inclusive trip," said Dave Cole of Hammerking Productions. "you can watch racing,
meet celebrity drivers, go wheelin, and be able to outfit your vehicle right there on the lake bed with the most innovative products."
